Wags Rescue & Referral is a small group of volunteers from Bucks County, Philadelphia and Montgomery County, PA that started because they wanted to help dogs affected by Hurricane Katrina by placing them in loving and safe homes. Although Hurricane Katrina prompted a group of people such as ourselves to reach out and help, there are still many other natural disasters that continue to give us a reason to keep going and rescue animals.
Wags continues to work with a shelter down south to find loving families for their dogs.

Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue is an ANTI horse slaughter, GFAS Accredited, 501c3 non profit horse rescue. We are tackling the issue of homeless horses head-on in a multi-pronged approach. We help horse owners in need of assistance via Mattie's Legacy Fund, we pull horses from the kill pen via Dustin's Dreamer's Fund. We started and launched the grass roots Anti Horse Slaughter Billboard Awareness Campaign, we rescue horses bound for slaughter, retrain them for new careers and adopt them out into loving homes. The Gress Mountain Ranch is a safe haven and a place of recovery for the animals, as well as providing therapy to adults and children. We are a forever home to presently 60+ animals. The ranch is a host to at-risk, inner city, special needs children, as well as adults and adolescents. Both children and adults with psychiatric disorders are helped in healing through our "therapeutic ranch." Kathryn Gress is an angel to all the animals and community...
Our unique treatment philosophy rehabilitates the animals and connects their stories of survival and healing to the personal experiences of the people mentioned above who all have suffered physical, mental, or emotional trauma. Through creative expressive therapy, i.e. Animal-Assisted Therapy, the interaction with our animals; people of all ages learn trust, empathy, and kindness. The healing that takes place at The Gress Mountain Ranch is truly miraculous. It is God's "heaven on earth."

Gettysburg Address! A dedication ceremony was planned and famed orator and former Harvard President Edward Everett was to be the featured speaker. President Lincoln was asked to speak as an after thought and had only about two weeks to prepare his remarks.
Approximately 15,000 people were on hand to hear Everett's two hour speech and Lincoln's two minute speech was over before most in the crowd realized he had even begun.
